Sensibo Launches Sensibo Airbend: Smart HVAC Management platform For Hotels
Tel Aviv, April 20, 2023 - Sensibo, the leading Climate Tech company combining smart ACs with a more sustainable world, launches on Earth Day 2023 Airbend, a new software allowing hotels to manage air conditioning and air quality monitoring devices in bulk, reducing heating and cooling costs, while ensuring healthy air quality for their guests. Sensibo Airbend can lead to savings of over 40% on energy bills by optimized monitoring and management of all ACs in the hotel.
Sensibo Airbend is a powerful and smart AC management solution that allows hotels to take control of their energy usage to reduce their operational costs and help them meet their sustainability goals. Airbend allows operation managers to remotely manage all of their units and set smart rules and parameters to optimize AC usage in individual rooms; keeping guests comfortable, while reducing energy consumption.
Hotels are always looking for ways to increase visitor comfort while reducing costs. A few unique challenges lie with air conditioning management: managing dozens of separate units, the lack of control once guests are in the room and the fact that energy waste from ACs can account for a big portion of their energy bill. In addition, hotel management needs to preserve hundreds of physical remote controls, struggle to manage units in different locations and maintain the health of AC units in order to reduce maintenance costs. Sensibo’s Airbend is complaint with recent regulation in certain EU countries requiring various buildings to limit the AC temperature to minimize energy consumption.
One of the first users of Sensibo Airbend was Prestige Bookings, a highly popular luxury resort accommodation in Coral Bay, Cyprus. They own and operate 14 holiday properties with over 100 rooms and made for different levels of comfort. They were looking for ways to reduce operational costs, meet their climate goals and optimize the management of dozens of AC units. The Managing Director, Gerry McMahon, loves Airbend’s comprehensive functionality and features. Climate React allowed him to set temperature thresholds that, when crossed, changed the state of the AC; kept rooms at optimal temperature while reducing energy consumption. The easy plug-and-play installation took him minutes to set up with no tools required and reduced the amount of time rooms were unavailable. Prestige Bookings also benefits from the Anti-Mold and maintenance functions as well as motion sensors that detect if a room is empty with the air conditioning running.
Between running air conditioners when rooms are empty and guests misusing AC when they’re in the room, lots of energy waste occurs due to AC mismanagement, leading to unnecessarily high energy bills.
Inefficient, “dumb” hotel AC units draw a sizable amount of energy, emitting Co2. Hotels spend 40% of their energy consumption on heating and cooling. Now, Sensibo offers a unified platform that allows hotels to manage all their devices from one centralized dashboard, reducing emissions, reaching ESG goals and saving money in the process.
“For ten years, we have worked hard to promote our vision of Beyond Air Con for the private home, helping more than 200,000 homes save energy and the climate worldwide”, said Ran Roth, CEO and Co-Founder of Sensibo. “Today, on Earth Day 2023, we are launching Sensibo Airbend for Hotels which will help the hospitality industry manage the energy consumption of their AC units with insights, data, sensors and AI along with improving the climate experience for guests”.
